{"id":7580,"date":"2025-06-23T12:06:36","date_gmt":"2025-06-23T10:06:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/visionary-project.eu\/?post_type=tribe_events&#038;p=7580"},"modified":"2025-06-24T10:19:01","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T08:19:01","slug":"ccv_hungary","status":"publish","type":"tribe_events","link":"https:\/\/visionary-project.eu\/es\/events\/ccv_hungary\/","title":{"rendered":"Cross Country Visit: Grain value chain collaboration and alternative food networks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The VISIONARY project and the Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI) are inviting to their Cross Country Visit in Hungary.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Where &amp; When?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Budapest, Hungary | September 11-12, 2025<\/p>\n<p>The event will begin early on September 11, so arrival ought to be planned for September 10.<\/p>\n<p>The venues of the first day will be in the central region of Hungary, and AKI will organise travel to the sites.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Who?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>We will be happy to welcome:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Organisers of alternative food initiatives,<\/li>\n<li>Representatives of AFNs,<\/li>\n<li>Experts and researchers whose work involves AFNs and food systems\u2019 sustainability transition,<\/li>\n<li>Grain producers<\/li>\n<li>Participants in grain value chains<\/li>\n<li>Policymakers and institutional stakeholders in the agri-food sector,<\/li>\n<li>Agri-environmental NGO representatives.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Topics possibly covered during the visit:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>What strategies can AFNs adopt to maintain their core values while navigating the pressures of commercial expansion?<\/li>\n<li>In what ways can niche innovations in agri-food systems gain broader traction without compromising their identity?<\/li>\n<li>How can alternative supply chains effectively engage with dominant markets and consumers\u2019 demand without being absorbed or diluted by mainstream dynamics?<\/li>\n<li>What role do education and consumer awareness play in shifting entrenched cultural preferences and purchasing habits within the grain-to-bread system?<\/li>\n<li>How can policy and regulatory frameworks be improved to more effectively support localised food supply chains?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Preliminary agenda<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Day 1 (11 September)<\/p>\n<p>Visit to <a href=\"https:\/\/atk.hun-ren.hu\/en\/mgi_angol\/\">HUN-REN Centre for Agricultural Research<\/a> \u2013 Introduction to quality-oriented cereal breeding and research of various cereal crop varieties<\/p>\n<p>Visit to <a href=\"https:\/\/csoroszlyafarm.hu\/\">Csoroszlya Farm<\/a> \u2013 The 300-hectare organic farm grows bread grains and produces its own organic flour with an Astri\u00e9 stone mill.<\/p>\n<p>Visit to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/pipacspekseg\/\">Pipacs Bakery<\/a> \u2013 A pioneer artisan bakery using organic ingredients and natural sourdough technology.<\/p>\n<p>Day 2 (12 September)<\/p>\n<p>Knowledge exchange workshop at AKI in Budapest<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Costs:<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Participants (or their organisations\/inviting organisations) must cover travel and subsistence expenses.
