Introducing… AKI

14. March 2024

AKI is the co-lead of WP2 and responsible for one of the project’s groundwork tasks within that WP: conducting a literature-based mapping of drivers for behaviour change in the food system. Besides that, AKI is engaged in the following four case study research: organic farming, water management, value chain initiatives and consumers.

The Institute of Agricultural Economics Nonprofit Kft. (AKI) is a Budapest-based private scientific institute supervised by the Ministry of Agriculture. AKI is a research and knowledge centre with the most extensive agricultural economics databases and the most significant policy expertise in Hungary, performing both public duties and state functions. One of the principal tasks of the Institute is to develop recommendations for agricultural and rural policy decision-makers. These recommendations are based on the results of various applied and basic research and policy evaluations, with particular emphasis on the implementation of the European Union’s Common Agricultural Policy.

AKI is also actively engaged in extensive collaborations with universities, research institutes, agricultural stakeholders, and international research and innovation initiatives, both within and outside Hungary.

The Visionary team from AKI represents diversified expertise involving the Department of Societal Research, the Climate and Environmental Research Department and the Food Chain Research Department.
