Based in Northern Italy, the Universiry of Trento (UNITN) brings internationally recognised expertise in environmental, behavioural, and experimental economics to the VISIONARY project. The team leads two key tasks in WP3, focusing on behavioural experiments in sustainable farming. In Task 3.1, they coordinate the design and implementation of these experiments, supporting protocol development, partner training, and methodological alignment across countries.
In Task 3.2, UNITN has conducted contextualised experiments in Italy to explore how farmers respond to market-based climate policies, such as the EU Emission Trading Scheme, as well as related taxes and subsidies.
Additionally, in WP4, UNITN contributes to Task 4.3, investigating behavioural strategies to boost consumer demand for sustainable food through field and survey-based experiments. Drawing on strong interdisciplinary skills and stakeholder connections across Europe, the UNITN team is helping shape innovative, evidence-based approaches for sustainable agri-food systems.
