Practitioners, researchers, and policy stakeholders are invited to join us in Budapest for a two-day event exploring the transition towards food system sustainability through the lens of an alternative grain network. The event is organised by VISIONARY partner Institute of Agricultural Economics (AKI) and will take place in Budapest, Hungary between September 11-12, 2025.

What to expect:

• An introduction to quality-oriented cereal breeding and research on various cereal crop varieties.
• Field visit to a 300-hectare organic farm producing bread grains and milling its own organic flour using an Astrié stone mill.
• Visiting an artisan bakery specialising in organic ingredients and natural sourdough techniques.
• Discussion on alternative food initiatives and the development of alternative grain networks.
• Networking opportunities for participants from different sectors and countries.
