The Local Gastronomic Points scheme (LGPs) is a business model based on adding value to products from agricultural households by establishing small-scale, family-type public food establishments. The concept was developed by the Ivan Patzaichin-Mila 23 Association and was first implemented in 2016, in the Danube Delta region. Within the LGPs, food can be prepared using raw materials from the primary production of the household or different local producers, and using local and traditional recipes, for a maximum of 15 persons at a time.
The objectives of the scheme are adding value to the products of small producers, generating additional/alternative household income, fostering local tourism, and contributing to the sustainable development of local communities and consequently to a local food economy.
